Your đź’— WILL save sea turtles!

Dear ,

With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, have you picked out the perfect gift for your special someone?

Better than wine or chocolate, giving the gift of a baby sea turtle nest shows your loved one you care deeply about them AND our planet’s future.

Send your special someone a tender symbolic gesture of love this Valentine’s Day by adopting a nest of sea turtle hatchlings in their honor. We’ll send an environmentally conscious, digital adoption certificate to your loved one in their name (and include a special note from you). The last day to adopt is this Thursday, February 11, so act now to get the certificate emailed directly to your Valentine on Friday, February 12!

Adopt a nest of sea turtle hatchlings by February 11 — and we’ll make sure it gets to your loved one on February 12.

Baby sea turtles face colossal obstacles from the time they emerge from their nests and dash towards the sea. Only one in 1,000 survive to adulthood. From nesting beach habitat degradation to human interference and light pollution on land, and predators, plastic pollution and impacts from climate change on the open ocean, sea turtles are swimming against all odds to survive.

With the support of our members like you, Turtle Island Restoration Network has worked with community volunteers and partner organizations for 30 years to protect nesting females, eggs and baby sea turtles, from creating a National Wildlife Refuge in Nicaragua to protect the most important olive ridley sea turtle nesting beach, to establishing six community-based beach nesting projects in Costa Rica. Right now, we are working with partners to create one of the world’s first marine protected areas connecting two national parks, between Costa Rica’s Cocos Island and the Ecuadorian Galápagos Islands — to protect highly migratory and critically endangered species like the Pacific leatherback sea turtle. But our work is not yet done, and you can help!

Say Happy Valentine’s Day by helping us save endangered sea turtles, mothers and their young, and protect nesting beaches in the Gulf of Mexico, Costa Rica, and beyond.

We love this holiday, and know it will look a lot different this year because of the pandemic. But we can still celebrate … and shower our loved ones with a gift for the future. These ancient, awe-inspiring animals cannot survive without increased protections and healthy habitat.

So if you’re looking for an affordable, thoughtful gift that helps save endangered sea turtles — look no further!

Thank you,

P.S. You can also shower your love with sea turtle swag, and all proceeds benefit our oceans conservation programs to protect sea turtle nesting habitat and fight for better protections for critically endangered sea turtles.
